My Journey Started in 2018...

In this age of pixel-perfect selfies and AI-optimized headshots, why I am starting out with a pretty shocking photo of myself? Isn't the goal to look wonderful? And to make sure everyone knows I always did look wonderful? Well, that's not my goal. Because that's not the truth.

And that comes with both opportunities and responsibilities! My goal is to be real, and helpful. I used to be be stressed, fat and sick. And worried! I lost part of myself and I wasn't exactly sure where to find it. Sound at all familiar?

If you can identify with some of what I'm saying, don't fret, I can truly empathize. For me it was pretty frustrating and lonely. I hope that when you understand my story and my discoveries...you might feel a little more hopeful. I wasn't sure what to do...now I know exactly what to do. The most important thing for you to know, is that I figured out how to tranform myself. If I can do it, you probably can too. I'll do my best to help you.

2020...a little progress.

In 2020, After a good amount of going up and down, weight-wise, I had lost about 20 pounds. Good progress, but honestly, this is when I was most depressed. I realized that my initial goal of losing 30 pounds, fell far short of my ultimate goal to live longer and better.

2025...Something to Cheer About!

On my birthday in September 2025, I was happy to report that I'd lost about 80 pounds of fat. I also gained about 20 pounds of lean mass, for a net change of the scale of about 60 pounds. This was good news and I felt great!

2030...Here I Come!

On my birthday in September 2030, I have HUGE Goals. In summary, I will be 75 years of age, and be able to demonstrate a functional age of 45 years old OR LESS. This is not just a biological difference, it's also measured in my cognitive abilities, relationships, and other important ways. I'll sharing more about "The Halfway Mark" very soon!

The HyperChange and Longevity Connection

Evolving HyperChange Trends and New Tech are Extending our Human Lifespan!

HyperChange
(too much change, too fast!)

...is the most powerful social force affecting humans right now. HyperChange is like a tidal wave of change, sweeping many familiar things and institutions away in its path. HyperChange is unrelenting, and unstoppable. For most of us, we are stressed because we can't keep up. Jobs are threatened, and income inequity is growing. Humans are struggling to be happy and healthy.

Increased Longevity
(more years in your life)

...is just one result and example of HyperChange. Because of better health diagnostics, new tools and medicines, some of us will live much, much longer! Unfortunately, some may live even shorter lives, causing social upset. Without taking important steps, the results won't be good or equitable.

I'm on a journey to THRIVE to 150+ years of age. I'm excited to share what I've learned so far!

Story

On October 31, 2001, I registered the domain name, MarkCofano.com. I've had a personal website for almost 25 years!..crazy huh?

Shortly thereafter, I decided a needed a logo. What to do? WHAT to do?! I had decided to use MarkCofano (no space) as what designers call "logo text." It's a pretty common thing for bigger brands to do...just pick a stylized font, and type out the name of the brand.

For the font, I chose Impact...it was one of the original fonts that was supported by default by Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Yep, back in the day, there was no Google Chrome...that wasn't invented until 2008. The Impact font was sort of futuristic, but was also a bit clunky, old-timey looking. Better better than Helvetica or Comic Sans for a high-tech dude like me.

After creating the logotext in Adobe Photoshop, I decided I needed what some people refer to as a "bug." It's not my logo...it's a graphic element that supports the logo text.

I decided to pay homage to one of my childhood heroes...Albert Einstein. He's the physicist who came up with the very famous formula for special relativity...

I noticed that the "E" in Einstein's formula could be used to to represent the words, "Exceptional" and "Energy." M was the first letter in my first name, "Mark." And "C" was the first letter of my last name, "Cofano."

So what about the "2"...the mathmatical way of saying when something is multiplied by itself...(squared)?" Well that was easy...while I don't always succeed the first time, I'm known to be very tenacious. I try TWICE as hard as the next person to satisfy the people I live and work with!

Finally, I had to figure out what to do about the equal sign in Albert's formula. Can you see it in the "M" in my bug?

The result?

Hopefully, you like it. Only one person has ever commented and they wanted to know if it was legal to use formula as a logo. The logo police have yet to appear, so hopefully, I'm OK. LOL!

My Journey to THRIVE to 150+ Years of Age

I originally wanted only to reclaim my health. I've discovered a way to live much longer, happy and healthy!
